Church planters with Baptist Mid-Missions among Portuguese-speaking immigrants in Florida, USA

Wesley grew up as the third child in a family of ten children in Recife, Brazil. He grew up in a Christian home and came to know the Lord as his personal Savior at the age of nine. During his junior year at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, he felt God's call to the ministry and upon graduation he enrolled at Central Seminary.

Tena Oliveria, a native of Minnesota accepted the Lord at the age of 12.  She also graduated from Pillsbury Baptist Bible.   College, accepted the Lord at the age of 12. She served as a short-term missionary in British Colombia and Jamaica, and taught in Christian Day schools in Panama City, Florida, and Lynchburg, Virginia.  She and Wesley were married on August 7, 1971. The Lord blessed the Oliveiras with four children: Lee and Lisa (adopted in Brazil), Raquel and Jeff.

The Oliveras are currently serving in Riverview Florida ministering to Portuguese-speaking people.

Joel grew up in Waterville, MN and Jodi grew up in Paynesville, MN. They met at and graduated from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. Joel went on to earn his Masters of Divinity degree from Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary. Seeing the need in Eastern Germany, they felt led of the Lord to serve in the city of Dresden, where they are currently involved in church planting. Dresden, with a population of 500,000 is the capital of the eastern German state of Saxony.
